The grit
- The trickiest piece of gear to choose has been a device for blog-posting and photo-uploading. I decided to only bring an iPhone to connect wi-fi spots to the WordPress Blog and to Track My Tour from their respective IOS Apps. I seem to be getting used to the Verbatim Bluetooth keyboard and I’m a much better touch typer than I am a thumb typer. I’ll transfer photos directly from the Iphone or from the SD card from the camera at a computer terminal on the road.

Carrying Weight
- Each Pannier is about 18 lbs packed and the bike is close to 40 lbs for a total weight of about 75 lbs. I put all the clothes/bathroom supplies in one pannier and all the camping/electronics in the other.
